About Maesllyn Meatboxes
Hi everyone, and thank you for your interest in our farm.
My wife, Gillian, and I began farming in 2013 when we secured the tenancy of a council farm. Since then, we’ve expanded by renting more land privately and now farm 120 acres of beautiful (in the words of Sir Tom Jones) green, green grass in the Cardigan Bay area of West Wales. We have self-funded our farm and receive no government subsidies.
I’ve been involved in farming for over 30 years. Gillian, meanwhile, was thrown in at the deep end in 2013, but is now a dab hand at calf rearing - and at pretending to be a gate when we’re moving animals!
Our farm is registered with FAWL (Farm Assured Welsh Livestock Ltd), which assures high standards for Welsh lamb and beef production.
We are proud to keep our carbon footprint low - our abattoir and butcher are both within 45 minutes of the farm. The meat you receive is fully traceable from farm to fork, and unlike cheaper imported meat, contains no antibiotics, growth hormones or added water.
Our meat may cost a little more, but it is top-quality: grass-fed, naturally reared and sustainably produced from animals that have been well fed, well treated and never rushed.
We deliver by courier to most of the UK (please note: some remote areas are excluded). Orders are packed in responsibly sourced wool-lined packaging - 100% biodegradable - which keeps the meat at fridge temperature for approximately 24 hours.
