Pork

Our pigs are also bought at weaning age, around 4 weeks old, and reared to about 80kg—an optimal weight for slaughter. Like the lambs, the pigs are not pushed but allowed to grow as naturally as possible. While we don't allow them to roam freely due to predators like foxes, we ensure they have plenty of food, space, comfort, and attention throughout their lives here.

Top Nutritional Benefits of Eating Maesllyn Pork.

  1. High-Quality Protein – Supports muscle growth, repair, and overall body function.
  2. Rich in Thiamine (Vitamin B1) – Important for energy metabolism and nerve function (pork is one of the best sources).
  3. Good Source of B Vitamins – Especially B6, B12, niacin, and riboflavin, which support brain health and energy production.
  4. Contains Iron and Zinc – Helps with oxygen transport, immune function, and cell repair.
  5. Source of Selenium – Supports thyroid health and antioxidant protection.
  6. Often Leaner Than Expected – Cuts like pork tenderloin are low in fat and comparable to skinless chicken breast.
